Current, Inc. supplies two families of material to architects, millworkers and interior fabricators: Liberty Wood®, a resin-impregnated coloured wood laminate that machines like hardwood and holds its colour through the full thickness, and fire-rated phenolic laminated sheet for wall panels, partitions and wet-area interiors where moisture resistance matters.

Liberty Wood for interiors

Liberty Wood is made by impregnating layers of wood veneer with resin and pressing them under heat and pressure. The result is dense, dimensionally stable and available in solid and multi-colour layups, so a routed edge or a turned profile reveals the pattern. It is used for handles, trim, inlays, furniture components and feature panels. See libertywood.co for colours and patterns.

Phenolic sheet for panels and partitions

Canvas, linen and paper phenolic sheets are hard, moisture resistant and self-extinguishing in the electrical grades. Sheets run to 48 × 96 inches and up to 3 inches thick, and can be cut to size or machined to your drawing in-house.

Sandwich panels

For lightweight partitions and transit or marine interiors, our structural sandwich panels combine thin, strong facings with a lightweight core and are qualified to fire-resistance standards used in mass transit and commercial aviation.
