Technical Data Sheet (TDS)

MIL-I-24768/28

Developed as an advanced glass epoxy laminate, G11/FR5 was designed to meet the increasing demands of industries requiring high-performance materials. First introduced to improve upon the already popular G10/FR4, G11/FR5 quickly became the material of choice for applications requiring greater thermal stability and mechanical strength. Over time, it has become a trusted solution in industries such as aerospace, electrical insulation, and heavy machinery, where high temperatures and harsh conditions require materials that won’t compromise on performance. Today, G11/FR5 remains a staple for applications that need robust, heat-resistant materials capable of maintaining their integrity under stress.

    FAQs

Current manufactures NEMA grade G11/FR5 products. These materials can be fabricated into tubes, rods, and sheets. They can also be machined into spacers, standoffs, and other parts. We can also design one specific to you based on your unique applications. Whatever your manufacturing or assembling needs, there’s a Current Inc. product that will improve your product for an affordable price. Our laminated sheets, standoffs, tubing, rod and spacers are created with precision in mind.

G11 is a thermosetting industrial laminated plastic consisting of a woven glass cloth material and an epoxy resin matrix. The “G” stands for glass epoxy and the “11” denotes specific properties of this type of glass epoxy. Standard G11 is not fire retardant. FR5 is G11 with fire retardant properties that can be used in electrical applications, whereas standard G11 cannot.
